Up-and-coming designers to be showcased in VOGUE Italia Talents & MUUSE competition

Today is a big big day for us at MUUSE – we are incredibly proud to announce our collaboration with VOGUE Talents!

The “MUUSE’s most promising designer by VOGUE Talents” contest calls all up-and-coming womenswear designers to submit their mini-collections to muuse.com where they will be put up for public vote.

When MUUSE met up with senior fashion editor Sara Maino and Elisa Bellini from VOGUE Italia this September in Milan, it became clear very quickly that MUUSE and VOGUE Talents have the same goal, just tackling it from different angles: Helping up-and-coming fashion designers gain recognition in the fashion world and seeing their collections produced.

Since we share the same enthusiasm to give young designers a platform to showcase their designs, we at MUUSE are very happy to join forces with VOGUE Talents in the search for the most promising new design talent, giving the winner the unique opportunity to offer their designs for sale in high quality while at the same time gaining high-profile exposure in a world-renowned fashion magazine.

And here’s how it works:

Until December 15th, all womenswear designers can submit their collection to www.muuse.com. All complete competition entries will be put up for public vote on the site after the submission deadline. When the vote closes mid-January, MUUSE will present the top 50 collections with the most votes to VOGUE Italia senior fashion editor Sara Maino.

Ms. Maino, who alongside of her longstanding work as senior fashion editor of VOGUE Italia is also directing VOGUE Talents, will then select the final 10 designers to receive a production opportunity with MUUSE and the chance to enter the final public vote (starting in February) to become “MUUSE’s most promising designer by VOGUE Talents” with a feature in VOGUE Talents and as designer of the month on MUUSE’s website during Fashion Weeks in February 2012.

When it comes to discovering new outstanding design, VOGUE Italia is the reference in the fashion world. Sara Maino and her editorial team at VOGUE Talents are not only providing a complete overview of the best up-and-coming talent every year in their VOGUE September issue supplement, but are also constant frontrunners in spotting and featuring emerging designers on their website.
