MUUSE at the Cross Connection Ballet

On Wednesday, team MUUSE felt we needed more contemporary ballet in our lives and went over to Dansehallerne in Copenhagen. On stage was the performance Cross Connection by Cross Connection Ballet Company (CCBC). The performance is divided into four parts made by four different choreographers, Constantine Baecher, Caroline Finn, Roy Assaf and Marcos Morau.

The idea behind the company is to bring in the best choreographers and dancers from across the world and create a global platform of dance professionals with integrity. This concept is something we can very much relate to here at MUUSE! When creatives come together in joined forces, they are inspired by each others different aesthetic backgrounds and visual language. These meetings often develops into something truly unique.

Dance is, very much like fashion design, a universal language. It is an expression that does not need an explanation in words, it just speaks for itself in a twirl of movements and colours.

The performances Beside Myself, Halfway Up The Stairs, Acknowledgment and København, are four very individual and thought provoking pieces. They managed to bring out both laughter and goose bumps, and left me with a feeling of longing to see more!
