What was once nonexistent on the international fashion calendar has fast become a one-stop event for the latest and greatest in menswear. The first-ever British menswear fashion weekend kicked off yesterday with private viewings, installations, catwalk shows and cocktail parties from designers like Topman Design, Paul Smith, and Superdry + Timothy. In prior seasons, the menswear collections were shown typically on the final day of London Fashion Week. At the shows, the momentous occasion for all that is men’s fashion translated into short-sleeve shirts in an explosion of colour and floral prints, with tweeds with pops of neon on the collar, rocker suits, and shorts, shorts and yes, more shorts.
