Flamboyant Anne Bancroft in Luscious Green
According to me, Anne Bancroft’s character Ms Dinsmoor in Great Expectations, embodies the ultimate Boho-Chic attitude! This filthy rich eccentric lady lives a decadent life in solitude, amongst cats and antiques in the enormous run down mansion Paradiso Perduto.
Throughout the film, green is the dominant colour…in fact the whole wardrobe of Estella, the mysterious beautiful niece of Ms Dinsmoor, is entirely green and designed by Donna Karan. Have a look a this fabulous film scene when Ms Dinsmoor expects poor little Finn to entertain her… Her make-up and dance moves are exquisite!
The film is a modern day version of the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations and has an impressive cast of Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert De Niro, Chris Cooper and of course Anne Bancroft.
