Tarang Bharti tries to find the balance through proportions between colliding ideas of structure and movement, strength and fragility. Remember to give him some love on Facebook and like his page.

Daniel Silverstain is inspired by architecture and art of the mid-20th century interlock. Daniel uses them in a range of simplified shapes that compliment the female body and give it a sophisticated, yet comfortable look. Daniel will be happy if you like his page.

Ming Pin Tien works are strongly abstract based, highly focused on creative patterns and use a balance of colour and texture. Ming is also on Facebook- like his page.

Magnea Einarsdottir combines her passions for knitting and Scandinavian heritage by implementing traditional methods with a modern twist. Magnea has a Facebook page, remember to like it.

Jolka Wiens collections derive inspiration from the psychological and social aspects of design, the way in which people communicate. Give Jolka some facebook love by liking her page.

Jantine van Peski focuses her designs around the sculptural aspect and the freedom of creating. Give Jantine some Facebook likes to stay updated on her work!

Last but not least on our avant garde list is of course Hellen Van Rees who is known for her modern take on Chanel’s traditional tweed outfits in combination of hundreds of soft blocks meticulously covered with single threads. Make sure you like her Facebook page.

Graduate Fashion Week will launch a new International Show featuring 16 of the world’s leading fashion universities. Each university is represented by one graduate, with a winning collection chosen by an esteemed panel of judges headed by Sara Maino, Senior Fashion Editor, Vogue Italia.

Graduates from the following universities will be participating

• Parsons, the esteemed New York college, which counts Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Proenza Schouler amongst its pioneering alumni
• Academy of Art, San Francisco
• Istituto Marangoni Milan
• IED (Institito Europeo di Design – Italy)
• Accademia di Costume e Moda (Italy)
• Istituto Marangoni Paris
• Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (Pakistan)
• Mimar Sinan Fine Arts (Turkey)

“The participation of such prestigious international educational establishments just goes to prove how influential and valued Graduate Fashion Week is around the world. We are thrilled to be able to welcome exciting talent from these prestigious education establishments and very much look forward to seeing their designs,” comments Martyn Roberts, director, Graduate Fashion Week.

They will all participate in a joint international show on Monday, 3 June at 11am. There will also be an International Award for the best collection judged by Sara Maino, senior editor Vogue Italia and the Royal College of Art’s Professor Wendy Dagworthy, who is a trustee of Graduate Fashion Week.

This year MUUSE and Fashion Scout are teaming up to sponsor special award to produce and show a collection in London and Paris fashion weeks.

With an increased international media profile, securing global industry icons such as Alber Elbaz, Stefano Pilati, Glenda Bailey and Alberta Ferretti amongst previous judging panel; and mainline sponsorship from George at Asda, part of the USA retail giant Walmart group, Graduate Fashion Week now takes its place as the destination event for media, recruiters and global fashion brands wishing to tap into the rich resource from some of the best fashion and design Universities in the world!

The scenic architecture of Skuespilshuset was the perfect setting for the one night of the year, where Style is at the well deserved center of attention.

As you might have noticed on Instagram, quite a few people stepped by the office before to try on our beautiful tailor-made pieces. In the end Malou from ELLE, Stine from Electric LadyLab and Stylist Dorothea borrowed some of our dresses for the night. So we couldn’t help but go ourselves and take a few pictures of the dresses and the night.

Abigail’s design was inspired by the concrete meditation pool at the center of Old Westbury Gardens in New York, a historic estate modeled after traditional English gardens. The pool and it’s walkways are surrounded by an array of delicate latticework, flowers, vines and concrete statues.

Two signature prints illuminate the collection; the cloud, an original hand-painted design in the warm grey of an overcast Spring sky, reflected in the pool’s water, and the garden, a soft pink digital print, created from macro photographs of tulips.
